Mass Leak Detection Test
This leak detection procedure employs buoyancy force measurement to determine a change in the mass of the contained fluid. Buoyancy force change relates to a direct change in the amount of the fluid’s mass caused by loss or gain. A probe placed in the fluid and connected to load cell indicator (LDI) measures the buoyancy force change. LDI data is transferred and stored on a power logger. Accumulated data is downloaded onto a PC with proprietary software for processing upon test completion. Onsite test results are determined by the computer generated leak rate.
